We listen to voice we think will solve our most pressing need.


If we need to advance our career, we listen to the leadership guru. If we need a better relationship, we read the latest book on the topic. If we need to remodel, we turn on HGTV.


YouTube has plenty of videos on "how to fix your toilet." I guarantee you if I'm watching such a video, my toilet is overflowing. I'm only listening if I have a pressing need.


Your audience listens when they believe you will help with their need.


As you work to find your voice ask:


1. What are the needs of my audience?


2. How can I position my content as the solution?


This is where you'll find your voice.
